Gapless metal-oxide (ZnO) arresters limiting lightning- and switching-overvoltages to protect transformers, cables and switchgear insulation. Supplied in polymer (silicone-housed) or porcelain designs with defined MCOV, protective levels and pressure-relief/short-circuit ratings selected to the system BIL. Installed at transformer terminals, line entrances, cable sealing ends and substation bays for insulation coordination.
