Power Resistors

Neutral Grounding Resistors

A neutral grounding resistor connected between the transformer or system neutral and earth to limit earth-fault current to a predefined value, protecting equipment while allowing sufficient current for protective relay pickup. Elements are typically edge-wound stainless steel grids or wire mesh selected for the specified fault current and thermal time rating. Commonly applied on distribution transformer neutrals in utility substations and industrial MV networks.
